Electric Rubber Bands

It’s been quite the ride thus far with the topics covered and the studies cited.

It appears as though a few additional fields of discussion could have been touched upon but the scientific literature as it pertains to EEG data in regards to those topics are limited at best. However, being already “knee deep” in the field of the “supernormal”, we will touch upon a few eye-raising topics in the second half of this piece.

Let’s touch upon a few points/theories that we believe are key takeaways from this 6-part series. Some of them will be considered to be “way out on a limb” in terms of speculation while others would be considered a bit more modest.

1. Subconscious to Superconscious?
There appears to be a “rubber band-effect” when it comes to predominant brain wave states. What we mean by this is that the slower the dominant wave becomes, the greater the potential of the faster...

2016 Healthcare in a Slightly Less Imperfect World

Allopathic (western) medicine, Integrative medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, Homeopathic medicine, Functional Medicine, Herbal medicine, Naturopathic medicine, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Chiropractic, Reflexology, Reiki, Qi-Gong, Magnetic Field Therapy, Bioelectric Therapy, Chelation Therapy, and the list literally goes on and on.

The point is that there are dozens of types of medicine modalities found throughout the globe with all of them likely exuding differing degrees of effectiveness depending on the symptom/disease/condition. Being that we are in the year 2016 with real-time connectivity across the globe, it’d make basic, logical sense that all medical practitioners and “healers” of all walks of life were able to access the latest, most effective information to better serve the public.

In early 2015, I accompanied a family member to their initial visit...

Mechanisms or Meaning?

Sometimes the mind tends to look for the complexity in simplicity.

A few days ago I had a conversation with a mechanical engineer as to the process with which a car engine actually operates. The engineer grew excited as he explained the details of how the pistons, compression, air-fuel mixture correlate with the cam shaft, cylinder head, & fly wheel. He’d then explain in fine detail how the fuel injectors spray gas into the cylinder at precise moments in order to maximize operable combustion within the engine. He would continue explaining how the engine oil, cooling system, electrical components, & exhaust system all work cohesively to provide the necessary environment to effectively drive an automobile for hundreds of miles.

Digging further I contacted a physics professor regarding the actual physics aspect of a moving vehicle. The professor would explain quite thoroughly the concept...

Health… an Upstream Perspective

Traditional modern medicine has long associated disease with the malfunctioning of the body due to faulty genetics and/or the “unknown” for quite some time. This is based on the perspective that the human body’s fate is largely predetermined to health or disease irregardless of outside influences due to genetic inheritances and random, unexplained mutations.

The relatively young field of Epigenetics (by mainstream standards) is based on studying the changes of gene expression based on external and/or environmental factors which subsequently affects how cells read these genes.

It would appear that these two perspectives are a bit contradictory.

One field of thought blames faulty expressed genes for disease.

The other train of thought blames the external and internal environments of the body for alterations in genetic expression which then potentially lead to disease.

Which one is...
